Mews houses - of which Lurot Brand is a specialist sales and letting agent - have a habit of being tucked away in London and there lies the appeal.
Their quasi clandestine existence grants them a superior level of privacy and quaint charm that hits the spot among distinguished or notable property purchasers.
So it came as no surprise that a former mews property will be at the heart of the revamped Annabel's - a private members club in Berkeley Square that has attracted Frank Sinatra, Diana Ross, Kate Moss, Mick Jagger and Elizabeth Taylor over the years.
The venue - which claims to be the only nightclub to have been frequented by the Queen (who nipped in for a gin Martini) is reopening a few doors down from its original home, occupying a far larger premises that allows it to become an almost 24-hour destination.
The new plans include a health and wellbeing spa in the aforementioned mews property, as well as bars, restaurants, an outdoor terrace and private dining rooms to complement its legendary dimly-lit 'after hours' Mirror Room.
The mews spa will, no doubt, allow royalty, Hollywood legends and A-list celebrities to be pampered somewhere even the longest-range zoom lenses can not reach.
The former mews behind the terrace is being turned into a health and wellbeing spa.
